Nancy Green’s Vibrant and Captivating Animal-Inspired Folk Art at Jedidiah Gallery from January 8 to February 10, 2025

Sunday, January 5, 2025

From January 8 to February 10, 2025, Nancy Green’s playful, animal-inspired folk art will be on display at Jedidiah Gallery and Store, located at King of Prussia Mall and in the Manayunk studio of Philadelphia. Art lovers of all ages are invited to the opening reception to experience her vibrant, whimsical works, which offer a fresh, child-like perspective on native scenes. This exhibition is part of Jedidiah Gallery’s monthly artist program, featuring a diverse collection of traditional oil paintings, original ceramics, installation art, and modern handmade crafts from both national and international artists.

On Nancy’s passion and drive for artistic expression, she shared, “I had a brief romance with pen and ink during my college years, but once I had started to raise a family in the early 1980’s, all thoughts of art flew out the window. Once my kids were relatively self-sufficient, I dived back into the art stream by first making things with my hands: pottery, leathercraft, handmade books, to name a few. Then in early 2020, when the pandemic began, I seized upon this gift of time to find my art voice, starting with watercolor painting, then fabric collage, and most recently, acrylic painting on canvas, wood panel, and rocks. If a day goes by when I am not creating something, I am not a happy camper. I go to bed each night thinking about my art and wake up in the same frame of mind. I am driven!”

Nancy, originally from the suburbs of New York City, now resides in the vibrant, eclectic neighborhood of Manayunk, PA. Drawing inspiration from her university studies in Montreal, Canada, and her time in Tampa Bay, Florida, she masterfully blends realism with her passion for animals, creating colorful and imaginative works of art.

Jedidiah Gallery, known for its progressive and innovative approach, appeals to both Millennial and Gen Z audiences, as well as traditional art enthusiasts. The gallery offers interactive art classes in floral painting, anime drawing, watercolor, still life sketching, and miniature kit building. It also hosts romantic date nights for couples, complete with drinks and DIY house model-building activities. Founded by Enzhao Liu, Jedidiah Gallery makes art accessible to all, featuring pieces starting as low as $20 to bring creativity closer to everyday life.
